I was not expecting a lot when looking for a quick snack while barhopping in Fredericksburg. My girlfriend and I ordered the Papas Machetes with the carnitas. I was expecting conventionally mildly chewy pulled pork with mashed potatoes... instead I was treated to one of the best meals I have ever had. I say this without exaggeration. I’ve lived in Texas in California for over 10 years and I’ve tried Countless Mexican restaurants, and traveled to over 30 countries and have yet to be as pleasantly surprised by a dish as I was tonight. The tortillas were cooled and greased to perfection, the carnitas was melt in mouth buttery without being fatty, and the mashed potatoes were pure decadence. Added all together with the guacamole and salsas this dish allowed us to create morsels within the tortillas that few if any other dishes can compare to. While an extremely casual setting this has been one of the best plates I have tasted. I truly have to thank the ownership and cooks for treating me to such an excellent meal.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. But the real star? The food! Every taco was packed with bold, authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and the perfect balance of seasoning. The salsa bar was nice; I just wished the salsas were spicier, but nonetheless, they all tasted great. Whether you’re a taco fanatic or just craving some amazing Mexican food, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back for more!

Wonderful Mexican food at great prices. The salsa bar offered an extensive choice of salsas and other add ons. The tacos were all good and especially the torta.

Tacos Al Pastor 10/10, salsa was excellent and they have all spice levels. Traditional Mexican dressing w onions and lime. Restaurant is clean and vibrant. Took less than 5 min for food to come out on busy night. Staff was friendly and vibes are good Only complaint is beers are 6 but given the location probably reasonable.

OMG, best street tacos ever! 3 brisket and 2 marinated pork with onions and cilantro. Fantastic salsa bar, mild to super hot in a good way. So much flavor and super friendly customer service.

This place is small but mighty! The food was so good and the lady was so helpful when ordering. It’s authentic and very much surprised me with the authenticity considering the location. Most of the food in this city is mid. You are def there for the vibes. This is an exception! Def stop by!

Finally! We have street tacos in Fredericksburg Texas – and they are some of the best ever! Taqueria Machetes offers a nice spread of street tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and so much more. We had the Chile Poblano Tacos and the Brisket Tacos – both delicious! The tacos were loaded with savory flavors and the tortillas were perfect. We washed them down with tasty Palomas that were also extremely enjoyable, and we loved the salted brims. They also have breakfast bowls, you can order online, and they also do catering. If you are on Main Steet, then you have to check this place out – Salute! - The Outpost.

2nd time here. Located right on Main St. Fast service. Go up to the window and order. They give you a beeper. Tacos are so flavorful. There's a little toppings and salsa bar to top off you taco The way you like it. Great place for a breakfast taco too Tacos are served with a flour tortilla. I'm pretty sure they're made fresh in-house. Chips and salsa -pay for separate.
